Keeping you accountable to your resolutions

The new year is an opportunity to reflect on the past 12 months and focus on starting the year on the right foot to ensure you achieve what it is you set out to.

At the start of each year, millions of people make the common resolution to improve a particular aspect of their lives, whether this be their health, relationships or financial situation. However, how many actually take action and stick to it?

Once the holiday season winds down and we settle back into our daily routine, it can be easy to find ourselves slipping back into our old habits. A recent study has found that that 2 in every 3 people fail to stick to their new year’s resolutions. It was revealed that the first few months are crucial when starting a new year’s resolution, with 80 percent failing in the first three months.

So, it’s time to get out of the rat race and begin your roadmap to wealth in 2016.

At Silvertail, we want you to succeed. If property investment or improving your finances is something you have set out to achieve this year, we are here to help make this happen. To help you keep on track, we have come up with our simple solution to ensure you stick to your new year’s resolutions in 2016.

Share your goals

One of the best things you can do when starting your new year’s resolution is to tell people about it. Studies have shown that by sharing your goals with someone, you significantly increase your likelihood of achieving them. By telling your friends, peers and family, they can hold you accountable and you are less likely to avoid them, which will ultimately help you succeed!

So, write them down, read them daily and tell people about it!

Be realistic

You need to make sure you have set yourself SMART goals (smart, measurable, achievable, realistic and time bound) and formulate a simple plan to ensure you stick by them. By following this structure and creating a mix between long and term short goals, you will be able to successfully tick things off your list, allowing you to stay motivated and work closer towards the bigger goals.

Make a plan

If you are serious about property investment and working towards financial freedom, it’s time to make a plan. Say to yourself – ‘this is what I want to do -  I’m going to purchase and investment property’ – and from there you need to understand what are the smaller steps I need to follow to ensure I get there.

If you’re unclear where to start, Silvertail will step in to provide unbiased quality property solutions. We will use our expertise and knowledge to empower our clients to make informed decisions so they can achieve their property investment goals, from buying their first home to being able to create wealth and a passive income from property investment.

There are some exciting opportunities in the property market and it doesn’t cost anything to have a chat with an expert in the field. You can only benefit from sitting down with someone who can guide you in the right direction and work with you to formulate strategies that will ensure you get to where it is you need to be. You never know, it may only be the smallest changes that make the biggest difference.
